BioDiT Citrus: Exhibit 31: Seasonal Wetlands

EXHIBIT 31

Seasonal wetlands are terrestrial areas covered by water during part of the year, of which our campus retaining pond is a great example.  Particularly in coastal regions, seasonal wetlands play important ecological roles that have economic impacts on humans.  From flood mitigation, to pest mitigation, to sustaining food webs, seasonal wetlands provide benefits that are not always obvious.  Once open, this exhibit will help to clarify these benefits and help you to recognize the many such wetlands in Citrus County.
