BioDiT Citrus: Exhibit 02: Our Royal Mascot -- The Florida Sandhill Crane

EXHIBIT 02

The sandhill crane (Antigone canadensis) is most famous for its dramatic migrations through the Platte River Sandhills region of Nebraska, but a large population of these magnificent birds makes Florida their year-round home.  These majestic birds with their booming call were selected as the BioDiT Citrus mascot to honor the mated pair that have long claimed our campus as their home.

Once completed, Exhibit #02 will honor our resident sandhill cranes (affectionately dubbed Duke and Duchess) and provide information about the comings and goings of the Charles S. Dean, Sr. Educational Center.
