BioDiT Citrus: Exhibit 20: Pollination & Agriculture

EXHIBIT 20

The vast majority of living plant species use flowers for reproduction, and flower-based reproduction requires the transfer of pollen from one flower to another -- pollination.  Many animals, including bees, wasps, butterflies, moths, flies, and hummingbirds play a role in pollination.  A large number plants grown by farmers and gardeners depend on these animal pollinators.  Once open, this exhibit will bring you to our campus Butterfly Garden to help you better understand the ecologically and agriculturally important process that is pollination.
