BioDiT Citrus: Exhibit 26: Decomposers & Detritivores

EXHIBIT 26

When it comes to the energy flowing through ecosystems, we tend to focus on plants and animals -- the producers and consumers that make up  a food web.  There is another type of food web, though.  The recycling of dead and cast off organic material (like dead leaves, hair, and feathers) is essential to keep energy flowing effectively through other food webs.  Once open, this exhibit will share with you the world of detritivores and decomposers, and how different types of food webs intersect.
