Welcome, Future Student Assistants!
Many departments at CF campuses employ student assistants. At CF Library locations, student assistants have the opportunity to learn various library skills. This libguide provides a basic example of the Federal Work Study (FWS) student assistant role and possible potential tasks in a library setting. It may or may not reflect all tasks, requirements, etc., due to the many different types, sizes, changes to, and locations of libraries.

Student assistants work with librarians and library staff to ensure the library functions in a professional manner. This includes assisting current students, faculty, staff, and community borrowers. It involves being aware of information, research materials, and essential library services.
