  • ALA has developed a number of tools to help educators navigate copyright, and Fair Use.

In the ALA Copyright Tools page, you will find the resources below:

  • Public Domain Slider - a tool to help determine the copyright status of a work that is first published in the U.S.
  • Section 108 of the U.S. Copyright Code -  a tool to help you determine whether or not a particular reproduction is covered by this exemption.

Using Films in Your Courses: Library Support for Copyright Compliance

The CF Library provides resources and help with navigating copyright concerns when using films in your teaching. While we offer guidance, please note that we cannot provide legal advice. Below are options available to you for using films without violating copyright:

Library Resources
The library offers a range of films in physical formats (DVD, Blu-Ray) and via streaming platforms, to include:

  • National Theatre Collection
  • Nursing and Mental Health in Video: A Symptom Media Collection.
