Borrower ID
Your Borrower ID is required to check out any materials from the Library. If you are a CFCC student, your Borrower ID is your CFCC ID card. Please remember to bring it with you.

Children
In the Library, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under 16 are not allowed in the Learning Support Center lab.

Study Rooms

STUDY ROOM RULES:

Study room reservations are made on the reservation sheets posted on the study room windows. Reservations must be made in person.

Four hours per day is the maximum length of time any group can reserve a room.

Rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. However, groups have priority.

Study rooms can only be reserved by groups of two or more
people
. Individuals are allowed to use unoccupied study rooms, with the understanding that s/he may be asked to relocate if a group needs the room.

Reservations are recommended, and those who have reserved a room have priority over those who have not. To reserve a room, sign up on the sheet on the study room windows. These rooms are very popular, particularly between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, and during mid-terms and finals weeks, so reserving in advance is recommended.

Reservations will be forfeited if at least two members of the group are not present within 15 minutes of the start time.

Personal items (purses, wallets, phones, laptops, textbooks, book bags, etc.) should not be left unattended.

Fast food and carry-out food are not allowed in the study rooms or anywhere else in the Library.

Study and other rooms in the Library can only be reserved by CFCC students, faculty, and staff. CFCC students, faculty, and staff have priority use of these rooms.

If you have any questions, or would like to borrow dry erase markers and erasers for the white boards, please ask a Librarian at the Reference Desk.

Noise (Ocala campus)
The North side of the Library (where the A-Q Circulating books are) is designated as the Quiet Study area. Library patrons are asked to keep noise to a minimum on this side of the Library.

The South side of the Library (where the Reference books are) is designated as the Group Study area. People may sometimes talk and make noise on this side of the Library. Very noisy groups may, however, be asked to move into a Study Room.

Computer Use
Computers are provided by CFCC for the use of those enrolled at the college, as well as by others who pay a user fee.  The computers in these labs and throughout the campus are intended for educational use.

As a CFCC computer user, you agree to:

Use the computers to improve skills, perform research, write papers, complete assignments or work on other functions related to your learning experience.

Abide by copyright and other state and federal laws relating to computer use.

Refrain from using the computer to play games, or visit chat rooms unrelated to a class or a specific assignment.

Avoid questionable or sexually explicit Web sites including but not limited to pornographic, illegal, or otherwise offensive pages.

Refrain from changing, installing or downloading anything on CFCC computers.

Leave technological equipment and/or academic resources as you have found them.

Report any problems with computers to the Reference or Circulation Desk.


Headphones
Headphones or earbuds must be worn when using any programs on the computers that produce sound. Headphones are available for check out at the Circulation Desk on the first floor for patrons with a valid library card.

Food
Fast food and carry-out food are not allowed in the LRC.

Donations
Any donations of materials to the Library will be reviewed, and those items deemed useful to CFCC students will be placed in the collection. Any items not deemed useful for CFCC students' curricular needs will be placed on the Free Table.

Cell Phones
Please set your cell phones to vibrate while in the Library, and please take all calls outside.

Personal Items
Please do not leave personal items unattended. The Library is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Printing (Ocala campus)

Effective July 1, 2009, CFCC will no longer provide paper and printers in the Learning Resources Center or computer labs. The CFCC Bookstore will provide printing services for all documents. Just bring your flash drive to building 36 for for a nominal pay-per-page charge.


Senior Institute

Members of the CFCC Senior Institute receive a Library card free of charge from Public Safety. This card entitles them to log on to the library computers for up to 4 hours a day and have a maximum of 2 items checked out at a time. Senior Institute members do not have remote access to the LINCCWeb databases and eBooks, but can be logged in to these resources by a Librarian while in the CCF Library.

The CFCC Senior Institute Library card must be shown to check out library items. Books can be checked out for up to three weeks, and can be renewed for a second three-week period if no hold has been placed on them by another patron. Books can be renewed online through MyAccount on LINCCWeb. A maximum of 2 audiovisual items, including DVDs and videotapes, can be checked out for 3 days with no renewal.

Community Borrowers
Community borrowers' cards are available to current Florida residents who are age 16 or older. These cards cost $10 per year, and with them, people who are not currently registered students can log on to the library computers for up to 4 hours a day and have a maximum of 2 items checked out at a time. Community borrowers do not have remote access to the LINCCWeb databases and eBooks, but can be logged in to these resources by a Librarian while in the CCF Library.

The Community Borrowers Library card must be shown to check out library items. Books can be checked out for up to three weeks, and can be renewed for a second three-week period if no hold has been placed on them by another patron. Books can be renewed online through MyAccount on LINCCWeb. A maximum of 2 audiovisual items, including DVDs and videotapes, can be checked out for 3 days with no renewal.

CFCC Alumni
Members of the Alumni Association can have a maximum of 20 items checked out at one time. CFCC Alumni Association Library cards are obtained at Public Safety, where members will be required to present their Alumni Association cards. Details on how to join the Alumni Association can be found at this CCF Foundation page. This card also entitles them to log on to the library computers for up to 4 hours a day. CFCC Alumni Assocation members do not have remote access to the LINCCWeb databases and eBooks, but can be logged in to these resources by a Librarian while in the CFCC Library.

CFCC Alumni Association members can have a maximum of 20 items checked out at a time, with up to 5 on any one particular subject. The CFCC Alumni Association Library card must be shown to check out library items.

Books can be checked out for up to three weeks, and can be renewed for a second three-week period if no hold has been placed on them by another patron. Books can be renewed online through MyAccount on LINCCWeb. A maximum of 2 audiovisual items, including DVDs and videotapes, can be checked out for 3 days with no renewal.

CFCC University Center Students
University Center Partner Schools: Barry University, Florida Southern, University of Central Florida, University of Florida, Florida State University, St. Leo, Capella, Webster University

Registered students of one of the above universities who are currently attending the CFCC University Center on the CFCC campus can have a maximum of 20 items checked out at one time. CFCC University Center Library cards are obtained at Public Safety, where students will be required to present their university ID cards. This card also entitles them to log on to the library computers for up to 4 hours a day. CFCC University Center members do not have remote access to the LINCCWeb databases and eBooks, but can be logged in to these resources by a Librarian while in the CFCC Library.

CFCC University Center students can have a maximum of 20 items checked out at a time, with up to 5 on any one particular subject. The CFCC University Center Library card and a current schedule, fee bill, or syllabus must be shown to check out library items.

Books can be checked out for up to three weeks, and can be renewed for a second three-week period if no hold has been placed on them by another patron. Books can be renewed online through MyAccount on LINCCWeb. A maximum of 2 audiovisual items, including DVDs and videotapes, can be checked out for 3 days with no renewal.

Reciprocal Borrowing
Eligible reciprocal borrowing schools: The 27 other Florida public colleges and the 11 Florida public universities

Currently registered students of one of the above schools can have a maximum of 20 items checked out at one time. These students are also entitled to log on to the library computers for up to 4 hours a day. Florida public university and college students do not have remote access to the CFCC LINCCWeb databases and eBooks, but can be logged in to these resources by a Librarian while in the CFCC Library.

Florida public university and college students can have a maximum of 20 items checked out at a time, with up to 5 on any one particular subject. The ID card from their home institution must be shown to check out library items.

Books can be checked out for up to three weeks, and can be renewed for a second three-week period if no hold has been placed on them by another patron. Books can be renewed online through MyAccount on LINCCWeb. A maximum of 2 audiovisual items, including DVDs and videotapes, can be checked out for 3 days with no renewal. Items can be returned to the library at the student's home college or university.

Continuing Education

Continuing Education (non-credit) students receive a Library card free of charge from Public Safety. This card entitles them to log on to the library computers for up to 4 hours a day and have a maximum of 2 items checked out at a time. Continuing Education students do not have remote access to the LINCCWeb databases and eBooks, but can be logged in to these resources by a Librarian while in the CCF Library.

The CFCC Continuing Education Library card must be shown to check out library items. Books can be checked out for up to three weeks, and can be renewed for a second three-week period if no hold has been placed on them by another patron. Books can be renewed online through MyAccount on LINCCWeb. A maximum of 2 audiovisual items, including DVDs and videotapes, can be checked out for 3 days with no renewal.
